Hamas Bulldozes World Heritage Site to Make Way For Terror Training Camp

The Anthedon Harbor on the Gazan waterfront is the oldest port in Gaza – it was built 3,000 years ago in the Mycenean era. In 2012, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) accepted the site onto its tentative list for World Heritage status – a status given to sites that hold universal value. In their report, UNESCO says that Anthedon qualifies because it “exhibits an important interchange of human values, over important periods of time that relate to the main trade route crossing the Holy Land from Egypt to the Fertile Crescent and linking Africa and the Middle East to Europe.” None of this seemed to make a difference to Hamas.

Hamas separates its political and military wings in order to maintain a facade of legitimacy for the international community. In this case, the site came under the jurisdiction of Hamas’ Ministry of Tourism. The Ministry claimed that it allowed the site to be used to mitigate Gaza’s chronic lack of housing: “due to rising population in the region, the Ministry appreciates the urgent need for using new pieces of land,” they said in an official statement.

But Deputy Minister of Tourism in Gaza Muhammad Khela was a little more open about the true purpose of his Ministry’s decision: “We can’t stand as an obstacle in the way of Palestinian resistance; we are all a part of a resistance project,” he said.

Khela’s admission exposes more than just the motivations behind the Anthedon case: it shows that Hamas’ terror and governmental activities are inseparable. More than that, terror is always Hamas’ first priority. When the ‘resistance’ against Israel needs to expand one of its training bases, nothing will stand in its way – including an irreplaceable, millennia-old, internationally-recognised heritage site.

USA CONGRESS writes Letter to Obama and the UN -read....

Congress Takes On U.N.’s Richard Falk over Boston Comments

April 26, 2013Keiko Hiromi/Polaris/Newscom

Keiko Hiromi/Polaris/Newscom

Outraged Members of Congress are circulating a letter demanding that the Obama Administration take action against U.N. Special Ambassador Richard Falk, the man who had the unmitigated gall to write that Americans brought the Boston bombings on themselves.

Falk made similarly appalling statements after September 11, 2001, and it sadly speaks volumes about the U.N. that he has managed to keep his position as “U.N. Special Rapporteur” and “human rights expert” in New York. For his anti-American and deeply insensitive statements, Falk must be dismissed from his post—the sooner the better.

In an April 21 commentary in Foreign Policy Journal, Falk stated that “the American global domination project is bound to generate all kinds of resistance in the post-colonial world.” He calls the innocent Bostonians “canaries” in the coalmine.

Falk’s comments got a rise out of the U.S. delegation to the United Nations. On April 23, U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice tweeted: “Outraged by Richard Falk’s highly offensive Boston comments. Someone who spews such vitriol has no place at the UN. Past time for him to go.” Both the Bush and Obama Administrations have complained bitterly about Falk’s rampant anti-Americanism and anti-Semitism since he saw fit to blame September 11, 2001, on the United States itself to little effect.

Members of Congress are now also demanding Falk’s firing in uncertain terms. The letter, authored by Representative Mike Kelly (R–PA), makes five points:

1) It rejects his claim that the United States is seeking global domination;

2) It rejects Falk’s allegation that the U.S.–Israeli relationship is responsible for provoking violence and affirms the U.S. friendship with Israel;

3) It asserts that Falk’s website, featuring anti-American and anti-Semitic cartoons, discredits the U.N. Human Rights Council;

4) It condemns Falk’s endorsement of crazy conspiracy theories that the World Trade Center bombing was perpetrated and covered up by the U.S. government; and

5) It states that Falk has violated the code of conduct of the U.S. Human Rights Council with his “offensive statements, irresponsible conduct, and poor judgment.”

Falk represents the anti-colonial agenda in all its twisted glory, rampant as it is at the United Nations. Good for Congress for taking on Falk’s outrageous arguments and for speaking up for their dead and wounded fellow countrymen.

President Barack Obama
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NWWashington, DC 20500

Dear President Obama:

We, the undersigned members of Congress, write to express appreciation for youradministration’s recent and past condemnation of Richard Falk, the United Nations SpecialRapporteur on “the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967”and further urge you to instruct U.S. Ambassador to the UN Human Rights Council EileenDonahoe to demand that the UN Human Rights Council take action to remove Falk on accountof his long record of offensive statements, conduct, and poor judgment falling short of thestandards established by the Council for mandate holders, culminating in his despicablecomments blaming the U.S. and Israel for the horrific Boston Marathon terrorist bombings.

We condemn Falk for his offensive belief that the Boston attack was justified because “[t]heAmerican global domination project is bound to generate all kinds of resistance in the post-colonial world” and his suggestion that the U.S. may “experience worse blowbacks” if it doesnot “rethink [its] relations to others in the world, starting with the Middle East.” We rejectFalk’s outrageous characterization of the U.S. as seeking “global dominationand emphaticallystate that the liability and the guilt for this deadly act of terrorism rests squarely on the shouldersof the attackers and those who provided any support or guidance for them.

Furthermore, we condemn Falk for blaming Israel and the close relationship between the U.S.and our ally and friend Israel for the Boston attack, particularly his offensive assertion that “aslong as Tel Aviv has the compliant ear of the American political establishment, those who wishfor peace and justice in the world should not rest easy.” On the contrary, as proud supporters ofIsrael, we affirm that Israel is a beacon of freedom and democracy and that promoting Israel’slegitimacy and security is a key to seeking peace and justice in this world. Thus, we also opposeFalk’s offensive past attempts to economically isolate Israel by demanding boycotts on“businesses that are profiting from the Israeli settlement enterprise” until they conform to“international human rights and humanitarian law and standards.”

Falk has embarrassed and discredited his office and the UN Human Rights Council through hisshocking anti-Semitic tendencies, such as posting a cartoon on his website with a dog wearing a“USA” t-shirt and a Jewish religious head-covering. His history of anti-Semitism calls intoquestion his suitability to fulfill his mandate with the impartiality necessary to maintain the trustof Israel, which is obviously a key stakeholder in the “situation of human rights on Palestinianterritories.” Moreover, we condemn Falk’s repeated endorsement of conspiracy theorists who allege that theSeptember 11th attacks were both perpetrated and covered up by the U.S. government andmedia. In particular, we condemn his odious claim that President George W. Bush was “openlyseeking a pretext to launch a regime-changing war against Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, and the 9/11events, as interpreted and spun, provided just the supportive domestic climate needed” for thewar.

Falk’s established record of offensive statements, irresponsible conduct, and poor judgment fallshort of the standards that the UN Human Rights Council has established for mandate holders, specifically requirements of “impartiality” in the fulfillment of his mandate and “personalintegrity” that are of “paramount importance.Further, Falk has violated the UN Human RightsCouncil’s Code of Conduct for Special Procedures Mandate-holders, specifically therequirements to “[u]phold the highest standards of ... integrity,” including “probity, impartiality, equity, honesty, and good faith” as well as to “[a]dopt a conduct that is consistent with theirstatus at all times” and to “behav[e] in such a way as to maintain and reinforce the trust theyenjoy of all stakeholders.”

For the above reasons, we urge you to instruct Ambassador Donahoe to demand that the UNHuman Rights Council take action to remove Falk from his position as the United NationsSpecial Rapporteur on “the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since1967.

Sincerely,
Members of Congress

"Mohammed, founder of Islam, with the sword and the Koran, symbols of his faith.

Here is a page from the Standard Reference Encyclopedia (late 1960s). First off, they actually depicted Muhammad, something they would never, ever do now. And secondly, look at the description, "Mohammed, founder of Islam, with the sword and the Koran, symbols of his faith."

Muhammad standard ref

That was then -- this is now.

I went and checked my World Book (hardcover) Encyclopedia from 2001 (pre-911) and was shocked to find that the crime of whitewashing and propaganda was already in full practice. No photos of Muhammad. No mention of jihad wars, land appropriations, cultural annihilations or enslavements. No mention of the sword.

Instead, Islamic propaganda provided by Ali Hassan Abdel-Kader, with additional sourcing by dhimmi extraordinaire, Karen Armstrong.

VIDEO PLUS-Giuliani on Obama New Post 9-11 Mentality / Plus List of Jihadist Attempts/Attacks made under Bush/Obama administrations

Rudy Giuliani was on with Sean Hannity tonight to discuss the recent developments in the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombings. Giuliani believes Barack Obama has not only put the US back to a pre-9-11 mentality but that he's actually put us back worse than a pre-9-11 mentality. "I think worse than a pre-9-11 mentality. Because at least before 9-11 you could say we weren't on notice about all these things. Now we're on notice. You don't have the excuses that existed before 9-11 about not really knowing the full implication of this. We now know the full implication of this. They've come to our soil. They've killed Americans.
**we needs Rudy is 90% correct -However he needs to study Mohammed -read the Quran- and look at the Living Quran in EVERY Islamic Nation. Whether the Nation was created 1400 years ago or 50 years ago - IT IS EXACTLY RUN AS THE QURAN DICTATES...and its a horror. IT IS ISLAM.

BOSTON Jihadist- Judge Bowler cuts short the Investigations Interrogation

Obama Mr Smoke and Mirrors.

' I will tell you about your right to counsel , and I will consider conditions of release pending further court proceedings....'
Full Transcript of Judge Bowler Mirandizing the Boston Jihadist
http://www.scribd.com/doc/137446180/Transcript-of-Dzhokhar-Tsarnaev-s-bedside-hearing

Under Law the Investigators had 48 hours to Question the dirtbag and try to get information that could have led to uncovering cells and/or preventing other attacks

But Fox News' sources say there was confusion about Bowler's timing, with some voicing concerns that investigators were not given enough time to question Dzhokhar under the "public safety exception" invoked by the Justice Department.
Two officials with knowledge of the FBI briefing on Capitol Hill said the FBI was against stopping the investigators' questioning and was stunned that the judge, Justice Department prosecutors and public defenders showed up, feeling valuable intelligence may have been sacrificed as a result.

In the nearly 12 years that have passed since the Sept. 11 attacks, terrorists have plotted more than 700 attacks on surface transportation systems internationally

There have been more than 50 foiled attacks in the U.S.

( Gee were they all reading Islamic magazines that incited " radical islam" just like the investigators are surmising the Boston Jihadi did? Cause we all know it has to be either Al Quada, a magazine or well perhaps a video game ...cause it just CANT BE ISLAM'S HOLY DICTATES!! * sarcasm* )

Fox news reports:

In the U.S., New York police uncovered a 2003 Al Qaeda plot to release cyanide gas in New York City’s subway system. In July 2006, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said it had stopped an attack on the PATH – specifically the commuter rail's tunnel connecting New York and New Jersey. They discovered a plan to place suicide bombers on the train and to destroy the retaining wall separating the Hudson River from the World Trade Center site in hopes of causing massive flooding to lower Manhattan – the city’s financial district.......

Authorities in Cleveland arrested five self-described anarchists last May. They were accused of plotting to blow up a four-lane highway bridge. An undercover FBI agent had sold the men inoperable detonators and plastic explosives.

In 2009, seven defendants came within days of executing a plot to conduct coordinated suicide bombings in the New York City subway system. When authorities foiled the attack, one of the defendants tried to crash his car on the Whitestone Expressway in an effort to kill himself and others.

Terrorists have been more successful attacking mass transit hubs and transportation centers internationally.

In 2005, three bombs on subways in London and one on a double-decker bus went off, killing at least 37 people in coordinated rush hour attack. In 2004,191 people were killed and another 1,500 were wounded in Spain when 10 bombs exploded on four trains in three Madrid-area train stations.

"Although attacks similar to those in London, Madrid, Israel or Japan have yet to occur in the United States, the threat is real and chances of an attack succeeding are high,” Daniel Prieto, research director of the Homeland Security Partnership Initiative, said during a hearing before the joint committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security in Massachusetts. “There are over 140,000 miles of train routes in the U.S. and more than 500 major urban transit operators."

Prieto added that Americans take public transit 32 million times a day, "16 times more than they travel on domestic airlines." She also noted that 9/11 terror mastermind Khalid Sheik Muhammed "told his interrogators that Al Qaeda had plans to attack the metro system in Washington, D.C."

A 2010 report from the Obama administration stressed the need for more work to be done to maintain safety on the nation’s mass transit lines. The recommendations included modernizing the information technology infrastructure used to vet the identity of travelers and transportation workers and completing blast analyses for all underwater passenger rail tunnels.

But some say that’s just lip service from the president and point to cuts in federal funding over the years as security concerns.

( OH YEA ... now lets talk money towards attacks - but not talk stemming the flood of jihadist into our country. thats like buying the best fire retardant gear - while letting gasoline and a blowtorch come at you )

“The APTA has urged Congress to significantly increase funding for public transportation security to the levels called for in the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007,” Melaniphy said. “Instead, from 2010 to 2012, federal investment in transit security decreased by 65 percent, while public transportation ridership increased by 300 million trips. This decrease in federal funding is just short-sighted.”

The Global Sweep of Islam-India Bangladesh "unrest" due to Islamists/...mmmm so nicely put

Islamist agitation fuels unrest in Bangladesh

(Reuters) - One night in February, Rajib Haider was set upon near his Dhaka home by five knife-wielding youths. His face was so lacerated that a relative who found the body wasn't sure it was him until he called Haider's cellphone and heard it ring inside a pocket.

DHAKA | Tue Apr 16, 2013 10:46am IST
Haider was a blogger, one of hundreds in Bangladesh demanding the death penalty for Islamist leaders accused of wartime atrocities, whose grisly murder swelled the crowds at student-led rallies many hailed as a "Bangladesh Spring".
But now, a radical pro-Islam movement has emerged to counter the students it sneers at as "atheist bloggers".
Known as Hefajat-e-Islam, it has given the government until May 5 to introduce a new blasphemy law, reinstate pledges to Allah in the constitution, ban women from mixing freely with men and make Islamic education mandatory - an agenda critics say would amount to the 'Talibanisation' of Bangladesh.
The clash of ideologies could plunge Bangladesh into a cycle of violence as the two main political parties, locked in decades of mutual distrust, exploit the tension between secularists and Islamists ahead of elections that are due by next January.
"This is a confrontation between secular and conservative orthodox interpretations of religion," said Muhammad Zamir, a former career diplomat and now a newspaper columnist.
Blaming the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for encouraging Hefajat to square off against the students, he said "they now realise they have opened Pandora's box".
Already dozens of people have been killed in clashes this year, mostly between Islamist party activists and security forces, and a series of general strikes called by opposition parties is starting to bite into the Muslim-majority country's fragile economy.
BANGLADESH'S TAHRIR SQUARE
What is now Bangladesh became part of Pakistan at the end of British colonial rule of India in 1947. The country, then known as East Pakistan, won independence with India's help in December 1971 following a nine-month war against the rest of Pakistan.
The trigger for this year's spasm of unrest came in February when a tribunal set up by the government to investigate abuses during the war sentenced a leader of the Jamaat-e-Islami party to life in prison, sparing him execution.
Jamaat, an Islamist ally of the BNP that opposed independence from Pakistan, denies accusations that some of its leaders committed murder, rape and torture during the conflict.
Wrangling over a war that ended 42 years ago might puzzle outsiders, but it underlines the unresolved rift within this South Asian country of 160 million between secular nationalism and a belief that Islam is the defining core of the state.
The tribunal's decision not to sentence Abdul Quader Mollah to death sparked public outrage that was fuelled by secular activists who used blogs and social media websites to call for mass protests.
Tens of thousands poured into the Shahbag area of central Dhaka, staging rallies and vigils. The rise of their movement was soon referred to as a "Tahrir Square" moment, after the scene of protests in Cairo that led to the overthrow of Egyptian strongman Hosni Mubarak in 2011.
Imran H. Sarker, who gave up his full-time job as a physician to lead the movement, says that some 60,000 Internet activists have now united under the "Shahbag" banner against war crimes and Islamic fundamentalism.
His group now also wants the government to ban Jamaat, whose student wing ordered the slaying of blogger Haider, according to the confessions of five students who say they carried it out.
"They don't even love this country," Sarker, a softly spoken 29-year-old, told Reuters at a medical university in Dhaka, railing against the Islamist party. "When we play cricket against Pakistan ... they take along a Pakistani flag."
He denied charges that "Shahbag" enjoys backing from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's party, the centre-left Awami League, which critics say is exploiting the war tribunal to win votes.
However, his movement's decision to target Jamaat convinced many that Sarker is a pawn of the government. It shifted the narrative of the public quarrelling from war crimes to religion, and it spurred a backlash from Islamist forces.
Blood-letting erupted across the country at the end of February when the war crimes tribunal condemned a top leader of the Jamaat party to hang.
The army was deployed after furious Jamaat activists attacked police with crude bombs, swords and sticks, burnt down houses of Awami League leaders and Hindus, and raided Hindu temples. At least 30 people were killed on the day of the ruling alone, and the toll ratcheted up over the next few days.
"WE ARE NOT TALIBAN"
The emergence of Hefajat-e-Islam since then was the Islamist answer to "Shahbag", whose momentum appears to have fizzled out. Over 100,000 people massed in central Dhaka on April 6 to rally behind the new movement, whose name means 'protector of Islam'.
Among the speakers at that rally was Habibur Rahman, head of a madrasa - or religious school - who told local media after a trip to Afghanistan in 1998 that he had met former al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and praised "the total victory of Taliban and establishment of an Islamic state in Afghanistan".
One of Hefajat-e-Islam's leaders is Mufti Fayez Ullah, who spoke to Reuters from a mosque that is set among the narrow bustling streets of old Dhaka and hums with the sound of boys reciting from the Koran, Islam's holy book.
"We have been termed as Taliban, but this is absolutely false, baseless and nothing but propaganda against us," he said. "But the Shahbag people are against Islam. They humiliate men with beards and caps. It cannot be tolerated."
He said Hefajat-e-Islam's supporters would bring Dhaka to a standstill on May 5 if the government did not meet a list of 13 demands, which include the call for a new law against blasphemy.
Several more verdicts are likely to be handed down by the war crimes tribunal in coming months, keeping alive tensions that analysts say the government and its arch-foes - the BNP and Jamaat - will try to use to their advantage as elections loom.
For now, the bloggers vs. Islam feud has diverted attention from a stand-off between Prime Minister Hasina and BNP leader Begum Khaleda Zia over whether to install a caretaker authority to ensure a free and fair election.
Both heirs to political dynasties, Hasina and Khaleda have rotated as prime minister since 1991 amid unending enmity.
Diplomats in Dhaka say the interim administration row will come to a head around September.
If that impasse is not broken, the BNP may boycott the poll, unleashing fresh unrest - or there could be a repeat of 2007, when the army stepped in and installed a provisional government to crack down on political thuggery and violence.

(CNN) -- Canadian authorities have arrested two men accused of plotting to attack a passenger train in an al Qaeda-supported plot, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Monday.
Chiheb Esseghaier, 30, of Montreal, and Raed Jaser, 35, of Toronto, are accused of conspiring to murder people on a VIA Canadian railway train, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said. While the suspects had the capacity to carry out an attack, the public was never in imminent danger, police told reporters.
Police said the suspects "were receiving support from al Qaeda elements in Iran."
The support entailed direction and guidance, police said terror plot
The suspects, who are not Canadian citizens, are scheduled to make their first court appearance on Tuesday, police said.
They are charged with conspiring to carry out an attack against, and conspiring to murder persons unknown for the benefit of, at the direction of, or in association with a terrorist group, police said in a statement.
News of the arrests came the same day Canada's parliament debated an anti-terrorism bill.
An official with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police told CNN that there is no link between the Canadian investigation and the Boston bomb attack, and added there was no known link with the Canadians involved in the terror attack on the Algerian gas plant in January.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation quoted "highly placed sources" as saying the suspects were under surveillance for more than a year.
The CBC reported that the investigation was "part of a cross-border operation involving Canadian law enforcement agencies, the FBI and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security."
CNN's Steve Almasy and Paula Newton contributed to this report.

From the religion of peace . com website
The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called'hypocrites' and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.
Unlike nearly all of the Old Testament verses of violence, the verses of violence in the Quran are mostly open-ended, meaning that they are not restrained by the historical context of the surrounding text. They are part of the eternal, unchanging word of Allah, and just as relevant or subjective as anything else in the Quran.
Most of today's Muslims exercise a personal choice to interpret their holy book's many calls to violence according to what their own moral preconceptions find justificable. Apologists cater to their preferences with tenuous arguments that gloss over historical fact and generally do not stand up to scrutiny. Still, it is important to note that the problem is notbad people, but bad ideology.
Unfortunately, there are very few verses of tolerance and peace to abrogate or even balance out the many that call for nonbelievers to be fought and subdued until they either accept humiliation, convert to Islam, or are killed. Muhammad's own martial legacy - and that of his companions - along with the remarkable stress on violence found in the Quran have produced a trail of blood and tears across world history.

The Quran:
Quran (2:191-193) - "And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]... but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah." The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries. In fact, the verses urgeoffensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which theylater did). The use of the word "persecution" by some Muslim translators is thus disingenuous (the actual Muslim words for persecution - "idtihad" - and oppression - a variation of "z-l-m" - do not appear in the verse). The actual Arabic comes from "fitna" which can mean disbelief, or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation. Taken as a whole, the context makes clear that violence is being authorized until "religion is for Allah" - ie. unbelievers desist in their unbelief.
Quran (2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."
Quran (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not." Not only does this verse establish that violence can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time. From the Hadith, we know that this verse was narrated at a time that Muhammad was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding merchant caravans for loot.
Quran (3:56) - "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."
Quran (3:151) - "Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority". This speaks directly of polytheists, yet it also includes Christians, since they believe in the Trinity (ie. what Muhammad incorrectly believed to be 'joining companions to Allah').
Quran (4:74) - "Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward." The martyrs of Islam are unlike the early Christians, led meekly to the slaughter. These Muslims are killed in battle, as they attempt to inflict death and destruction for the cause of Allah. Here is the theological basis for today's suicide bombers.
Quran (4:76) - "Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…"
Quran (4:89) - "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks."
Quran (4:95) - "Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-" This passage criticizes "peaceful" Muslims who do not join in the violence, letting them know that they are less worthy in Allah's eyes. It also demolishes the modern myth that "Jihad" doesn't mean holy war in the Quran, but rather a spiritual struggle. Not only is the Arabic word used in this passage, but it is clearly not referring to anything spiritual, since the physically disabled are given exemption. (The Hadith reveals the context of the passage to be in response to a blind man's protest that he is unable to engage in Jihad and this is reflected in other translations of the verse).
Quran (4:104) - "And be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy; if you suffer pain, then surely they (too) suffer pain as you suffer pain..." Is pursuing an injured and retreating enemy really an act of self-defense?
Quran (5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement"
Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them" No reasonable person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle.
Quran (8:15) - "O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them. (16)Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless maneuvering for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey's end."
Quran (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief) and religion should be only for Allah" Some translations interpret "fitna" as "persecution", but the traditional understanding of this word is not supported by the historical context (See notes for 2:293, also). The Meccans were simply refusing Muhammad access to their city during Haj. Other Muslims were allowed to travel there - just not as an armed group, since Muhammad had declared war on Mecca prior to his eviction. The Meccans were also acting in defense of their religion, since it was Muhammad's intention to destroy their idols and establish Islam by force (which he later did). Hence the critical part of this verse is to fight until "religion is only for Allah", meaning that the true justification of violence was the unbelief of the opposition. According to the Sira (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 324) Muhammad further explains that "Allah must have no rivals."
Quran (8:57) - "If thou comest on them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember."
Quran (8:59-60) - "And let not those who disbelieve suppose that they can outstrip (Allah's Purpose). Lo! they cannot escape. Make ready for them all thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered, that thereby ye may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy."
Quran (8:65) - "O Prophet, exhort the believers to fight..."
Quran (9:5) - "So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them." According to this verse, the best way of staying safe from Muslim violence is to convert to Islam (prayer (salat) and the poor tax (zakat) are among the religion's Five Pillars). This popular claim that the Quran only inspires violence within the context of self-defense is seriously challenged by this passage as well, since the Muslims to whom it was written were obviously not under attack. Had they been, then there would have been no waiting period (earlier verses make it a duty for Muslims to fight in self-defense, even during the sacred months). The historical context is Mecca after the idolaters were subjugated by Muhammad and posed no threat. Once the Muslims had the power, they violently evicted those unbelievers who would not convert.
Quran (9:14) - "Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace..."
Quran (9:20) - "Those who believe, and have left their homes and striven with their wealth and their lives in Allah's way are of much greater worth in Allah's sight. These are they who are triumphant." The Arabic word interpreted as "striving" in this verse is the same root as "Jihad". The context is obviously holy war.
Quran (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." "People of the Book" refers to Christians and Jews. According to this verse, they are to be violently subjugated, with the sole justification being their religious status. This was one of the final "revelations" from Allah and it set in motion the tenacious military expansion, in which Muhammad's companions managed to conquer two-thirds of the Christian world in the next 100 years. Islam is intended to dominate all other people and faiths.

Quran (9:30) - "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!"
Quran (9:38-39) - "O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place." This is a warning to those who refuse to fight, that they will be punished with Hell.
Quran (9:41) - "Go forth, light-armed and heavy-armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah! That is best for you if ye but knew." See also the verse that follows (9:42) - "If there had been immediate gain (in sight), and the journey easy, they would (all) without doubt have followed thee, but the distance was long, (and weighed) on them" This contradicts the myth that Muslims are to fight only in self-defense, since the wording implies that battle will be waged a long distance from home (in another country and on Christian soil, in this case, according to the historians).

Quran (9:73) - "O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination." Dehumanizing those who reject Islam, by reminding Muslims that they are merely firewood for Hell, makes it easier to justify slaughter. It also explains why today's devout Muslims have little regard for those outside the faith.
Quran (9:88) - "But the Messenger, and those who believe with him, strive and fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and it is they who will prosper."

Quran (9:111) - "Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Quran: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme."
Quran (9:123) - "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness."
Quran (17:16) - "And when We wish to destroy a town, We send Our commandment to the people of it who lead easy lives, but they transgress therein; thus the word proves true against it, so We destroy it with utter destruction." Note that the crime is moral transgression, and the punishment is "utter destruction." (Before ordering the 9/11 attacks, Osama bin Laden first issued Americans an invitation to Islam).
Quran (18:65-81) - This parable lays the theological groundwork for honor killings, in which a family member is murdered because they brought shame to the family, either through apostasy or perceived moral indiscretion. The story (which is not found in any Jewish or Christian source) tells of Moses encountering a man with "special knowledge" who does things which don't seem to make sense on the surface, but are then justified according to later explanation. One such action is to murder a youth for no apparent reason (74). However, the wise man later explains that it was feared that the boy would "grieve" his parents by "disobedience and ingratitude." He was killed so that Allah could provide them a 'better' son. (Note: This is one reason why honor killing is sanctioned by Sharia. Reliance of the Traveler (Umdat al-Saliq) says that punishment for murder is not applicable when a parent or grandparent kills their offspring (o.1.1-2).)
Quran (21:44) - "We gave the good things of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win?"
Quran (25:52) - "Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness..." "Strive against" is Jihad - obviously not in the personal context. It's also significant to point out that this is a Meccan verse.
Quran (33:60-62) - "If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against them, then they will be your neighbors in it but a little while. Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter." This passage sanctions the slaughter (rendered "merciless" and "horrible murder" in other translations) against three groups: Hypocrites (Muslims who refuse to "fight in the way of Allah" (3:167) and hence don't act as Muslims should), those with "diseased hearts" (which include Jews and Christians 5:51-52), and "alarmists" or "agitators who include those who merely speak out against Islam, according to Muhammad's biographers. It is worth noting that the victims are to be sought out by Muslims, which is what today's terrorists do. If this passage is meant merely to apply to the city of Medina, then it is unclear why it is included in Allah's eternal word to Muslim generations.
Quran (47:3-4) - "Those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the truth from their lord. Thus does Allah set forth form men their lessons by similitude. Therefore when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners," Those who reject Allah are to be subdued in battle. The verse goes on to say the only reason Allah doesn't do the dirty work himself is in order to to test the faithfulness of Muslims. Those who kill pass the test. "But if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost."
Quran (47:35) - "Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost (Shakir: "have the upper hand") for Allah is with you,"
Quran (48:17) - "There is no blame for the blind, nor is there blame for the lame, nor is there blame for the sick (that they go not forth to war). And whoso obeyeth Allah and His messenger, He will make him enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; and whoso turneth back, him will He punish with a painful doom." Contemporary apologists sometimes claim that Jihad means 'spiritual struggle.' Is so, then why are the blind, lame and sick exempted? This verse also says that those who do not fight will suffer torment in hell.
Quran (48:29) - "Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves" Islam is not about treating everyone equally. There are two very distinct standards that are applied based on religious status. Also the word used for 'hard' or 'ruthless' in this verse shares the same root as the word translated as 'painful' or severe' in verse 16.
Quran (61:4) - "Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way" Religion of Peace, indeed! The verse explicitly refers to "battle array" meaning war. This is followed by (61:9): "He it is who has sent His Messenger (Mohammed) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam) to make it victorious over all religions even though the infidels may resist." (See next verse, below). Infidels who resist Islamic rule are to be fought.
Quran (61:10-12) - "O You who believe! Shall I guide you to a commerce that will save you from a painful torment. That you believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ), and that you strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives, that will be better for you, if you but know! (If you do so) He will forgive you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow, and pleasant dwelling in Gardens of 'Adn - Eternity ['Adn (Edn) Paradise], that is indeed the great success." This verse refers to physical battle in order to make Islam victorious over other religions (see above). It uses the Arabic word, Jihad.
Quran (66:9) - "O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey's end." The root word of "Jihad" is used again here. The context is clearly holy war, and the scope of violence is broadened to include "hypocrites" - those who call themselves Muslims but do not act as such.

From the Hadith:

Bukhari (52:177) - Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him."
Bukhari (52:256) - The Prophet... was asked whether it was permissible to attack the pagan warriors at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, "They (i.e. women and children) are from them (i.e. pagans)." In this command, Muhammad establishes that it is permissible to kill non-combatants in the process of killing a perceived enemy. This provides justification for the many Islamic terror bombings.
Bukhari (52:65) - The Prophet said, 'He who fights that Allah's Word, Islam, should be superior, fights in Allah's Cause. Muhammad's words are the basis for offensive Jihad - spreading Islam by force. This is how it was understood by his companions, and by the terrorists of today.
Bukhari (52:220) - Allah's Apostle said... 'I have been made victorious with terror'
Abu Dawud (14:2526) - The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Three things are the roots of faith: to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, "There is no god but Allah" and not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action; and jihad will be performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist)
Abu Dawud (14:2527) - The Prophet said: Striving in the path of Allah (jihad) is incumbent on you along with every ruler, whether he is pious or impious
Muslim (1:33) - the Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah
Bukhari (8:387) - Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah'. And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally."
Muslim (1:30) - "The Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight against people so long as they do not declare that there is no god but Allah."
Bukhari (11:626) - [Muhammad said:] "I decided to order a man to lead the prayer and then take a flame to burn all those, who had not left their houses for the prayer, burning them alive inside their homes."
Muslim (1:149) - "Abu Dharr reported: I said: Messenger of Allah, which of the deeds is the best? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Belief in Allah and Jihad in His cause..."
Muslim (20:4645) - "...He (the Messenger of Allah) did that and said: There is another act which elevates the position of a man in Paradise to a grade one hundred (higher), and the elevation between one grade and the other is equal to the height of the heaven from the earth. He (Abu Sa'id) said: What is that act? He replied: Jihad in the way of Allah! Jihad in the way of Allah!"
Muslim (20:4696) - "the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: 'One who died but did not fight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or determination) for Jihad died the death of a hypocrite.'"
Muslim (19:4321-4323) - Three separate hadith in which Muhammad shrugs over the news that innocent children were killed in a raid by his men against unbelievers. His response: "They are of them (meaning the enemy)."
Muslim (19:4294) - "When the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) appointed anyone as leader of an army or detachment he would especially exhort him... He would say: Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war... When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them... If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them.
Tabari 7:97 The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the Prophet declared, "Kill any Jew who falls under your power." Ashraf was a poet, killed by Muhammad's men because he insulted Islam. Here, Muhammad widens the scope of his orders to kill. An innocent Jewish businessman was then slain by his Muslim partner, merely for being non-Muslim.
Tabari 9:69 "Killing Unbelievers is a small matter to us" The words of Muhammad, prophet of Islam.
Tabari 17:187 "'By God, our religion (din) from which we have departed is better and more correct than that which these people follow. Their religion does not stop them from shedding blood, terrifying the roads, and seizing properties.' And they returned to their former religion." The words of a group of Christians who had converted to Islam, but realized their error after being shocked by the violence and looting committed in the name of Allah. The price of their decision to return to a religion of peace was that the men were beheaded and the woman and children enslaved by the caliph Ali.
Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 327: - “Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.’”
Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 990: - Lest anyone think that cutting off someone's head while screaming 'Allah Akbar!' is a modern creation, here is an account of that very practice under Muhammad, who seems to approve.
